UFO buster - Quilt

There are 5 quilt tops waiting to be basting and quilting. But basting and quilting are just very difficult for me. Yes I love cutting and piercing and also binding but the processes between always make me procrastinate. Also I feel a little uncomfortable to quilt using my home sewing machine as the harp is not wide enough for me to move the quilt freely while quilting. This make my quilting harsh. I've searched in the internet but most of the quilters seem having no problems with their small machines. I think I need to practise more. And for sure this 5 quilt tops will be my sparing partners.

Below is my first attempt to make a quilt. I attended a short course but cannot finished the class as I was busy with my work. And this was 6 or 7 years ago. I don't know why I always make excuses to finish this quilt but hopefully it will be finished by this month.

I made this quilt top using the tutorial by Missouri Quilt Co. I love so much their tutorials at Youtube and never miss a single video since.

This is the balance fabrics from the above quilt top and I just rearranged the HST.

This is the latest quilt top. I made this from a tutorial from Handmade magazine No.47. I always want to make tumbler design and hoping to buy AccuQuilt Go someday but using this tutorial you don't have to purchase any special ruler.

I thought this is a lovely and brilliant idea as I've never seen anything alike before. Hope I can make a simple tutorial someday for my own reference later.

I forgot to take picture the other quilt top. It sit still on my piano and I intend to make it as my piano cover so no need basting or quilting. I think I will use Kate's BIG Binding Quilt-video tutorial.

So Happy Tuesday everyone!!

Sewing Machine Bag

Actually I just wanted to sew a cover for my Brother XL-2220 sewing machine but ended up with a bag. Just a simple bag with no pattern at all. I just measured the outer dimension and plus about 1 inch each side. This bag is slightly bigger and has one pocket in front for storing the leg control. The fabric I used is the least favourite so this project was more a "try and error"  project so I would feel nothing if this project fail. Luckily it didn't.

Without further ado, here the finished bag.

The pocket flap is not align but I was to lazy to unpick the stitches. My friend said nobody will notice this and if they even noticed, nothing harm will do. Hahaha.

Note to myself: Use the pins. Don't just eyeballing!!

Crochet Poang Chair

Still in progress. But already worn out. Started because I got too much black threads but ended up buying more of it. Stopped as my thumb got swelling due to excessive non-ergonomic mouse usage. Thx to HP mouse.

The pillow was using Attic24's Flat Circle pattern.

Table runner for Mek

Today I finished sewing table runner for Mek (my mother's sister) after procrastinated it for 2 years. Simple design which I referred to this blog. Mek requested small flowers with not so crowded design. Anyway, I like to sew big flowers as it required less time meaning quickly to complete. So here the pictures.

Fabrics hunting @ Tewah The Mines

Our plan was to go to The Mines Autoshow but unfortunately for F the show was cancelled. No update about this in their website and we just found out after ringing the PIC. He told us that it was not their fault as they had told the Mines management earlier. Whatever..

But lucky for me as I got the time to shopping for more fabrics. YEAHH. I had balance RM82 ( from RM300 which was my standby allowance for this month ) after my recent purchases but could not hold myself after seeing so much delicious fabrics in Tewah. Total RM150.

Love at first sight.
